Contributed to Gatsby Cloud’s Image CDN, enabling image resizing and compression through query parameters with caching and cache invalidation.
Contributed to Cloud Content Sync and a team-led overhaul of the preview experience for Gatsby sites using content management systems.
Added GitLab support to Gatsby Cloud, including OAuth authentication, repository selection, and automatic deployments on push.
Fixed an Nginx Lua memory issue that caused slow or failed requests, reducing error rates for affected requests from over 90% to under 5%.
Served as interim engineering manager for two months, coordinating work across teams, delegating priorities, and helping engineers address delivery challenges.
Contributed to both proprietary Gatsby Cloud code and open-source Gatsby.

Founder | January 2021–November 2022

Built a service that turned Notion into an email and contacts platform, routing messages sent to custom addresses into a user-selected Notion database.
Enabled users to reply to emails directly from Notion.
Built a parser to convert between HTML email and Notion’s content format.
Implemented secure, self-hosted email attachments.
Automatically linked senders and recipients to a separate Notion contacts database.

Software Engineer | March 2020–April 2021

Developed features for Local, an Electron-based WordPress development application with 90K+ monthly active users.
Helped create a paid version of Local with expanded functionality.
Built an image-optimization add-on that scanned WordPress sites, tracked image changes, backed up originals, and compressed images.
Built an instant-reload add-on using BrowserSync to watch front-end assets and refresh changes in the browser.
Contributed to the cloud backup feature that used restic and rclone to efficiently store site changes in Google Drive or Dropbox.
Added OAuth authentication with “Local Hub”, where users could manage subscriptions and site backups.
Contributed to the second version of Live Links, improving the stability of public tunnels used to share previews of local WordPress sites.

Built a client-side map and graph visualization library that saved the company $400K in licensing costs.
